Problems with Microsoft Word????

When I open a document the Microsoft Word opens but my document does not open until I click on the specific document that I want opened a second time. What could be causing this? I have Microsoft Word 2003.

Your file assocation may be wrong. You can try editing it, but sometimes, deleting it, restarting Windows and then recreating it is more successful.

To Edit:

Open MyComputer, then click on Tools, Folder Options, File Types.

Scroll down the list to the file type you are using (for Word, it's usually a .doc file)

Now with it highlighted, click on Advanced, select OPEN and click Edit. Under DDE Message it should say [REM _DDE_Direct][FileOpen(''%1'')]

If it doesn't, change it and save by clicking OK out of the 1st two open boxes, then Apply %26 Close in the final one.

is it just that version that does that !
In Microsoft Word you have to hit a certain document for that to open.
restore file associations or install office service pack 2 or try a repair if office suite
